Picture Scheduler is based on the other app in App Store - Audio Notes. This gives you reliability, which has already experienced thousands of costumers worldwide.

Collaboration with professionals

    We have been asked if our other app - Audio Notes, could be more optimized for creating and organizing personal tasks for individuals with disabilities. We thought that it would be great to create an app, which can help thousands of people who rely on visual and auditory supports to do their common tasks easily.

    We started to collaborate with Dr.Toni Van Laarhoven - an associate professor at Northern Illinois University. Years of her experience with working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities helped us to create a great new application.

Interface changes

       It wasn’t easy to recreate Audio Notes into the new application. We had to simplify the user interface to make it easier to use by individuals with intellectual disabilities.  Now, when you create a new task, you can set up all important properties in the same window. 

   In addition, Audio Notes already had the capability of allowing users to choose different colored notes, however, with the Picture Scheduler, you can now attach a picture to a note, which is particularly helpful for those who need visual supports to perform daily tasks. The combination of pictures and audio are also great features for displaying favorite photos that can “speak” for themselves.

Video possibilities

In some instances, individuals with disabilities may need to be shown “how” to do a task. When picture and audio notes don’t provide enough information, a video may be the answer. One video is more than a thousand words, so we have worked very hard to add this feature. 

    Now, you can touch your task in the app and immediately see video instruction for how to do the selected task. However, iPhone and iPod Touch systems don’t yet have the ability to record video, so you will have to create the video files yourself and import them into the app.

Backup center

    Sometimes, you have task lists that repeat every week or day. It would be horrible to recreate the same task list over and over each week. Fear not. Even if you delete the tasks on your list, you can now restore the saved task list from “Backup”.

    All tasks are backed up and you can easily restore them later.

    Audio Notes already has a notification feature, but we have improved this feature in Picture Scheduler.  After the app is launched, you can receive an alert that informs you when a task needs to be completed. A visual and auditory display reminds you that a task needs to be done.

    After the task is completed, you can swipe to delete it, and your next task moves to the top of your “to do” list. If left on, this app can remind you of what you need to do at various times of the day. This is great because you’ll never miss any of your tasks.

Other features

    Although this application was developed for individuals with disabilities, it is useful for all. You can export your notes (FTP), save the whole list of your tasks, change audio quality, enable full screen preview of pictures, change the order of notes, show family and friends “talking pictures”, organize your videos, and much more.

    Application is also available in English, German, Spanish, French, Norwegian, Czech, Italian and Hungarian languages
